I am excited about the growth of our organization, the sport of lacrosse in our areas and the dawn of the 2008 season! Because lacrosse is becoming such a visible sport, it is important that the SWLOA remain a well-respected member of the lacrosse community. As you prepare for the new season, take a moment now to replace those uniform items that are no longer serviceable. Do you need new shoes or hats? Make sure your shorts are the best they can be. Pull out those socks and replace them if they are no longer white. Get ahead of the appearance game now! New rulebooks are currently being delivered. The 2008 THSLL Waivers are posted on this web site. If your area does not already have a pre-season training schedule I highly recommend you meet to discuss new rules and old mechanics. For example, in North Texas there will be three pre-season meetings. With the holidays behind us it is time to step up your fitness program. Remember, the players will always be young but we don't have the luxury. Start running now! As always, our most important job is to recruit energetic candidates with the stamina and desire needed to keep pace with the ever-increasing speed of the game. Finding just the right person has always been tough. But it is not impossible. You know who we are looking for. Now, just convince them how much fun it is! I look forward to the new season and seeing you on the field Lax up! Robert Rinker |
